college backpacks for laptop?

hey i was looking at backpacks for college and i have a 15.4 inch laptop. I looked at a couple of north face and a couple of Swiss. i really would like to make sure the laptop is protected well the back pack is good quality. i know north face are good backpacks but i wasn't sure about the safety of my laptop, and suggestions on brands or what. im looking for around $100 or less
i looked at the north face surge day pack and the north face wavelength backpack.
